Coil Live Wave-Gotik-Treffen 31 May 2004

Note: all images from Kleiner Tod
used without permission, but full credit for some of the finer photo documentation found so far of Coil shows able to be posted here.

Now then, it is with GREAT pleasure that I am able to offer here this set from 31 May 2004 at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, Germany.

Coil Live at Wiki has this to say about the 2004 incarnation of Coil:
"In 2004 Coil embarked on their final tour titled "Even An Evil Fatigue"."

I was made aware of this set as torrent in an Anonymous comment left on my post requesting help filling out the Live incarnations of Coil. Well bless my soul if this isn't one hell of an amazing set. Per the original torrent poster's request, I have not converted these to a lossy format, but apple lossless. Sounds TASTY in the ipod, my friends.

"January 19th, 2004
Coil will be performing at the Wave Gotik Treffen festival which takes place in Leipzig, Germany on May 28th to 31st, 2004. Other bands confirmed to appear include Clan of Xymox, Covenant and Suicide Commando, with many more to be announced."

Personnel:

Tracklisting:
01 - The Gimp (Sometimes)
02 - Sex With Sun Ra
03 - Broccoli
04 - All The Pretty Little Horses
05 - (I Can't Get A Word In) Edgeways
06 - Tattooed Man
07 - Teenage Lightning (10th Birthday Version)
08 - Wraiths And Strays
09 - Black Antlers (Where's Your Child?)
Compare this to the Paris set(2004-05-23). I am right now. Very different energies between the shows. I'd love to hear the continuity of this tour if someone knows of the Milkweg show's existence(2004-06-03). For now, though, do your own comparison. I like the acoustic qualities of the room as translated in this recording. Very full. Broccoli. mmm mmm good. Some audience chatter, but not too bad. "At least they have a shower":) Recording ends after last song. I don't know if there was some manner of John saying thank you or such, but I should imagine he did.
Apple Lossless. Broken into 6 parts. All parts required.

And so I stand corrected. To be honest, though, each time I have tried to access your collection, it(flickr) hasn't allowed me. Having seen this, though, I am floored. The clarity and capture of the moment is brilliant. My qualm with the shots from wtg is the blur when not complimentary.
Thank you! (hope it's ok I published the comment. Beautiful work:)

fall, you are welcome, indeed.
I am of the same ilk. I love getting lost in new permutations of their sounds (at least new to me:)

Oh those pics weren't by me ( I may be misunderstanding you), Roomteperature.Org is actually Fergus Kelly, who has a few cds of his own out now.
What do you mean by "access"? You wanted to download or blog something? I'll have a look at my settings...

Some soisong just turned up on Youtube from last night
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pujQ06uIORA
and the ep in F's "special place"

No misunderstanding. I should just try to get some sleep before I write. I wasn't logging in when trying to access your photos and those of the collective. I am unfortunately prone to brainfarts. Like actually seeing whom took the pics. Och well.
Thank you very kindly for the youtube pointer. I'll have to delve further into it.

I am getting an error message with track 1 when trying to open. I have all 6 parts. Was able to open all tracks individually at least, but not track 1, so it is incomplete. Any suggestions?

My first suggestion would be to isolate all files rar files in a folder, select all, and open the group. The six files contain nine songs.

Update...I re-downloaded part 1 and now is fine. Must have been a glitch. Many thanks to you!

you're very welcome. I'm just glad it worked out. It's quite a good set. Reflective.
Cheers!

Thank you so much for the wonderfull Coil music!
It has inspired me to start buying records again after a long time away.
Thank you so much!

I, too, had not been buying new musicks/trying to find pieces long since forgotten. Renewed interest is a good thing:) It can be hell on the pocketbook, though.
and you are very welcome!

hello wassonii - needles to say, yours is one of the best sites ever for everyone who's into COIL... as I am... - I've just downloaded the files of the "Wave-Gotik" concert but I can't listen to them or get them converted to WAV-format. I've already tried 2 converters but both won't do the trick. have you got any clues how I could get this done... I'd LOVE to hear this gig... - I'd be grateful for any hints... and thanks again for the fantastic music... k.

Well you are most welcome.
I converted the set to .rar files using winrar. All files should be in the same folder, selected and decompressed. Then you can convert to .wav or whatever tickles the old fancy:)
Good luck and please let me know what happens.
Cheers!
