A True Legend

Tracklist and infos here and here

As you'll see, a number of the tracks on this release are from the Barrett Tapes and as such I have left them out. Great archival piece which includes some collaboration with Ravi Shankar, a rehearsal with Paul Simon for their Saturday Night Live performance in '76, as well as George's thoughts on his black Gretsch. Definitely for the fan, as some tape noise and other audio issues preclude it from audiophile categorisation. Worth a listen, for sure!

I read somewhere that George's black Duojet Gretsch was stolen from him in the early 60s and he got it back 30 years later. He celebrated it by putting it on the cover of his "Cloud Nine" LP cover. You can see him playing it in Hamburg in old pictures. George was a wonderful soul, easily my favorite of the Beatles.

Agreed. I just wish he recorded himself as much as Lennon. Och well...

Phil Ochs? Let me know if you need or want anything by Phil Ochs - I've got just about everything he recorded. The users at my blog wouldn't care for it but I love his work.
